A menor cantidad, mayor precio.
What stands out is how unique this country is. And I'm talking about the good: like here, there's nowhere else. Well, yes, it had to be said. But let's get into the bad, because there is some.
Social media and evictions
As always, social media is driving the news cycle, and they give us an extremist vision for some and for others. Savage behaviour. Empty protests and excuses. And in the middle, the only thing that is not an excuse: a human tragedy such as an eviction. Of course, the other side has taken the opportunity to keep gaining strength. Empty strength, too.
Another one from my country. Not long ago, I don't know if it rings a bell, Ceuta was invaded. I hope you remember it, even though they want to make you forget it. And like Ceuta, I can tell you about the Zapatero case, and so on and so forth, every month lately. But this is still a finance community. We'll leave that to the experts, who surely do it better.
Supply and demand explained
Social media, which tangles things up so much, sometimes clarifies them. A photo caught my attention that I saw on mine. It's from a friend, and it explains how a problem that seems so abrupt can be summed up in a simple supply and demand graph.

What the regulator does or does not do with profits, we'll leave that to someone else too. The question is: what is really being asked for? I have a lot of faith in people in general and I think they know this. More regulation, less quantity. Less quantity, higher price. That's the first thing they taught me in high school Economics. Therefore, I take it for granted that the vast majority of people do know this.
The decree and its consequences
And the math has already come out. The housing decree was published in the BOE on 30 September. Following the announcement, the Rental Observatory counted 4,290 homes that had exited the rental market. Houses that were there and are no longer. It was foreseeable. More housing is requested and what arrives is less. So why? Nobody wins. Not me writing this at 45 at 8 in the morning, nor the person my age who has been camped out for 4 days.
Personal concern and context
Don't misunderstand me. I'm 21, turning 22, and I'm the first one worried about my access to housing in the future. I assure you. I'm doing an internship at a very important bank globally. I've been studying AI for four months, commercialising and creating large-scale projects. I've been running this finance community for three years. And I have another journalism project in the works. What I earn a month from all of this still doesn't give me significant income. But I know perfectly well that this is the path.
Regarding the cover, I quote a tweet I saw and with which I personally agree: «Emblem of Madrid. Part of the most sacred shield I know. When you have no respect, you lose reason».
It's still an open architecture article. I don't know the solution to all of this. I don't understand the motivation either. I just know how to do the math and the math doesn't add up. Meanwhile, line 45 continues its route. And me, with it.
